A metabolic–epigenetic pathway drives immune suppression in colorectal cancer

From the report
Nature Cancer, Published online: 28 October 2026; doi:10.1038/s43018-026-01266-4Tumor-associated neutrophils are being recognized as regulators of cancer immune evasion but the pathways that drive their pathogenic states remain unclear. A study now reveals a metabolic–chromatin crosstalk via a GSK3β–FH–fumarate–KDM2B axis that epigenetically reprograms neutrophils into an immunosuppressive state in colorectal cancer.
