Selective blockade of microRNA-31-5p−calcitonin receptor interaction reverses established atrial fibrosis and atrial arrhythmia burden
From the report
Nature Cardiovascular Research, Published online: 30 October 2026; doi:10.1038/s44161-026-00897-1Trompf, Cox, Hulsurkar et al. show that the selective disruption of the miR-31-5p−CTR interaction in atrial fibrillation reverses established atrial fibrosis and reduces atrial fibrillation susceptibility, highlighting a promising RNA-based therapeutic strategy.
